Our values

At Rossell England we believe that considered design goes hand-in-hand with consideration for the planet and its people. We care about how our clothes are made and are continually looking into ways we can improve the process. We are committed to transparency, passing on information about materials and suppliers to you. It’s an ongoing journey and we thank you for travelling it with us.

Considered design

High quality fabrics

Timeless style

Limited waste

We are proud to make high quality, timeless garments with longevity. We make to this standard so that you can wear them for a long time.

We produce in small quantities, which can mean once a style or size is sold out it is gone, limiting left-over stock and waste. We carry over popular styles so you should be able to find the style you love next season.

Fabrics

GOTS Certified organic cotton

Ethically sourced

No harsh chemicals

Nickel Free

Our organic cotton is sourced from Portugal and is OEKO-TEX ® Class 1 certified, the world-wide leading textile processing standard for organic materials. The cotton is processed with the least possible environmental impact, with strict controls on chemicals used and with respect for labour conditions. The mill has its own water treatment facility meaning no toxins are released into the local river. It produces 30% of its energy from its own solar panels.

Our linen is sourced from Ireland and are members of the Masters of Linen which guarantees excellence and 100% traceability at each stage of the processing. The linen is grown using rain water and without the use of pesticides and fertilisers.

Suppliers

Europe-based

Family-owned factories

Long-term relationships

Mutual respect

We have established relationships with all of our suppliers and work on a basis of mutual respect. We don’t hunt around for cheaper price points and we pay on time. Our factory in Portugal is family-owned. We visit them twice a year, working with everyone from the the owner to the highly-skilled machinists.

Logistics and packaging

Both our fabric mill and production factory are now based in Portugal, helping to limit the carbon foot print of our short supply chain.

All components used in our underwear and nightwear are sourced from Europe.

We ship by road rather than air.

We have cut travel to suppliers by 75 per cent and now communicate predominately via video call.

We only use bio-degradable or recyclable packaging.

Rossell England is committed to being kind to the planet and its people, now and into the future.

About us

The first bra was created from a personal desire by Jo Rossell in 2016. Her goal was to create the ultimate bra that was non wired but supportive and made from natural fibres which are comforting on the skin.

Each item is meticulously designed and tested to ensure the fit, proportion, comfort and style is right. The product is skilfully produced in a specialist lingerie factory based in Portugal. Our fabrics are sourced from fabric mills in Italy and Ireland and are OEKOTEX and REACH certified.

With a background in women’s ready-to-wear design, Jo has worked for Calvin Klein and Narcisco Rodriguez in New York and Margaret Howell in London. This foundation combined with Jo’s three dimensional approach to design gives the brand a fresh and unique style.
